1/2 Marathon Training Update

Why hello there... not sure why I have been so motivated to run lately? Perhaps it is the reality that my first 1/2 Marathon is a little over 10 weeks away!!! (BIG GULP!!!)

I have been trying to run 3-4 times a week.  I am following a training plan I downloaded from Runner's World.com  The beautiful thing about this plan is that it doesn't have you going all out every day until you collapse.  Easy short runs during the week and a nice long slow paced run on the weekend. 

The plan is to mix in Bikram Yoga on the days I am not running to help with my strength and flexibility. I have been averaging around a 12:00 minute mile which for just starting out I am happy with.  My ultimate goal is to be down to a 10 minute mile come the end of May/June.


To keep me motivated and slowly upping my miles, I have signed up for a plethora of races this Spring/Summer!!  Below is a list of the runs I have signed up for.

Southie St. Patrick's Day Road Race 5k - 32.11 mins! (personal best, I think it was the giant downhill sections!)
