Most weekdays I bring my lunch to work, usually leftovers, turkey sandwich or a salad. However some days you just want to go out for lunch. Our lunch group at work has a few regular spots which we have become faithful regulars. From pizza to diners we seem to cover the many types of lunch spots in the Beverly area. That being said, a spot that has opened in the past few months in Beverly has quickly become a favorite for all of us!
The Farm Downtown is an offshoot of the The Farm Bar and Grille in Essex, MA. The owners wanted to bring their fresh, local and high quality food to a city setting. This small establishment brings fresh and amazing BBQ, fries and quick eats to busy workers of Beverly. For under $10 you can get a full lunch (sandwich, fries & a drink) that will rock your face off!
I may not be from the South but I like to think that I know good BBQ and the Farm has Great BBQ! Their pulled pork and pulled chicken are a culinary masterpieces! The sauce is not too sweet and not to hot, just the perfect balance of vinegar, spices and molasses.
The fries are hand-cutt and fried to order. Sprinkled with salt and pepper, I can easily eat an entire order myself! I have also tried their fresh fish tacos and must say they are delicious and fresh tasting as well. The perfect combo of fresh, crunchy and spicy.
